In his book, “Catholics, Converts and Dropouts”, Dean Hoge says that one of the times when people are likely to drop out of the Church is when they move into a new community.  Having left a Church where they had family and friends, they are likely not to become active members of the new Church unless they are welcomed and make to feel wanted.*

At Holy Cross Church there have been people in this situation which brought about the formation of the Hospitality Ministry.  Many of the hospitality members working in this ministry have been “new” and know what it is like.  Having found a wonderful spiritual life at Holy Cross,  this ministry reaches out to the new parishioners monthly by contacting them by phone and delivering a small gift.

We have members who only assist in greeting at the beginning of the mass they attend weekly.  Members make themselves available to assist new families and help them find “their” place in this Parish family and around the area.

If this sounds like a ministry you would like to be a part of, we invite you to contact any of the parishioners listed below.
